
The militants have freed seven captives, comprising a family of six and a woman from the AK-9 Abuja-Kaduna train assault.
Tukur Mamu, Publisher of the Kaduna-based Desert Herald and Media Advisor to a contentious Islamic leader, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, verified the liberation of the seven captives to reporters in Kaduna.
Mamu stated that his principal, Gumi, facilitated the release of the seven captives.

The names of the freed family of six are Abubakar Idris Garba, his spouse, Maryam Abubakar Bobo, and their eldest child, Ibrahim Abubakar Garba, who is ten years old.
Others comprise Fatima Abubakar Garba (7), Imran Abubakar Garba (5), and the youngest, Zainab Abubakar Garba, who is merely one and a half years old.
Abubakar Idris Garba, an employee of the National Assembly Service Commission, is the offspring of a former Military Administrator of Kano and Benue States.
Also liberated is a 60-year-old female, Hajia Aisha Hassan, who was reported to have been freed due to severe health complications that recently worsened.
