BREAKING: Nnamani pulls out from APC presidential race

Merely 24 hours before the initiation of the All Progressive Congress, APC convention in Abuja, former President of the Senate, Ken Nnamani, has withdrawn from the ruling APC presidential contest.

The ex-legislator declared his exit on Monday during a gathering with reporters in Abuja.

NAIJATAB NEWS had previously indicated that President Muhamamdu Buhari has urged the National Advisory Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to “actively” advocate for a consensus candidate prior to the party’s presidential primary scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja.

He remarked, “Given the current situation, it does not make any sense for me to persist in the competition as I have not been given the chance to promote my profile and ideas to the delegates of our party in a way that allows for reflection and contemplation.”

“Hence, I am stepping back from my ambition and wish the party a fruitful primary and shared purpose so that we can triumph in the 2023 general elections.”

“I will keep engaging with the party and its leadership to ensure that the principles and values that I hold dear and promote gain a solid foundation in the party’s governance and in public leadership following the election.”
