Breaking! Former Nigerian deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and wife arrested over alleged organ harvesting



The extensive reach of the law has apprehended former Nigerian deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his spouse Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu.

The pair were detained in the United Kingdom due to alleged trafficking of human organs.

As per the Metropolitan Police Press Release, the Ekweremadus were today, Thursday, June 23, accused of conspiring to arrange the travel of a minor into the UK for the purpose of extracting organs.

“The accusations stem from an inquiry conducted by the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime unit.

[A] Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55 (10.9.66) of Nigeria is accused of conspiracy to organize/facilitate the travel of another individual with the intent of exploitation, specifically organ harvesting.

[B] Ike Ekweremadu, 60 (12.05.62) of Nigeria is accused of conspiracy to organize/facilitate the travel of another individual with the intent of exploitation, specifically organ harvesting.

Both individuals have been placed in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later today.

The investigation commenced after detectives were informed of potential violations under modern slavery laws in May 2022.

A minor has been protected and we are collaborating closely with partners for ongoing assistance.

As legal proceedings are currently in progress, we will refrain from providing further information.”

At the time of this report, the Ekweremadus have not yet commented on the allegations of organ trafficking.
