Bandits kill one and kidnap seven in recent Kaduna incident

Militants once again invaded the Sabon Gyero community in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, reportedly taking the life of one individual and kidnapping seven others in the early hours of Monday.

An informant revealed to NAIJATAB that the assailants, who descended upon the community in significant numbers during the early morning hours, headed directly to a home and seized three women along with four children.

The militants also assaulted a phone-charging station in the vicinity, where they shot and mortally wounded a young man known as Abdullahi Lawal, commonly referred to as “Kurma.”

Throughout the incident, the assailants allegedly absconded with numerous mobile devices and laptops from the station.
Kurma, who was hearing and speech impaired, was struck in the head. He was swiftly transported to a medical facility but succumbed before arrival.

The victim was subsequently interred in the Sabon Gyero community following Islamic traditions.

The Commandant of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the region, Uwaisu Yunusa, while addressing reporters, stated that, “members of the task force reacted upon hearing gunfire and attempted to trace the assaulters, but were unable to apprehend them.”

One of the abducted women was eventually freed by the captors due to health issues.
