The Nigerian Army has formally commenced its 2025 recruitment initiative for the 89 Regular Recruit Intake, encouraging submissions from both tradespeople and non-tradespeople, including women.

With this declaration, eligible Nigerians now can submit applications online, adhering to the specific protocols established by military officials.

To be eligible, candidates must satisfy several critical requirements. They must be Nigerian citizens by birth and own both a National Identity Number (NIN) as well as a Bank Verification Number (BVN). Moreover, applicants must be in sound medical, physical, and psychological condition, in line with the military’s rigorous fitness standards.

Only unmarried candidates are allowed to apply, and they must have at least four passes in their secondary school examinations, including English Language. Furthermore, applicants must not have any criminal history or ongoing legal cases in any Nigerian court.

For individuals applying as tradespeople, a Trade Test or City and Guilds Certificate is mandatory in addition to the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Age specifications also differ depending on the type of applicants. Non-tradespeople and women must be aged between 18 and 22 years, while tradespeople can submit applications if they are aged between 18 and 26 years as of June 30, 2025.

Applicants are required to present a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC), a local government authority, or an accredited hospital. When a birth certificate is not available, an officially recognized age declaration may be accepted.

In addition, a valid state of origin certificate is necessary as part of the application evaluation process.
