Al Capone was born on 17 January 1899 to Gabriele Capone and Teresa Capone as Alphonso Al Capone. Both of his parents were Italian immigrants hailing from Angri, Province of Salerno. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City.
Capone had eight siblings: Raffaele James Capone, Salvatore Frank, Ermino John, Ermina, Mafalda, Vincenzo Capone, Albert Capone, and Ralph Bottles.
In 1903, his family departed Italy for Fiume, Austria-Hungary, which is now Rijeka, Croatia. Eventually, they settled at 95 Navy Street, Brooklyn. His father and mother worked as a barber and seamstress, respectively. When Capone was 11 years old, the family relocated to Park Slope, Brooklyn.
