“ADC Unveils Strategic Triad to Combat Insecurity”

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has unveiled a three-point strategy to amend Nigeria’s security framework.

The organization revealed the strategy while responding to the recently published Global Terrorism Index.

As per the document, acts of terrorism in Nigeria increased by 43 percent under President Bola Tinubu and the APC, escalating from 120 incidents in 2024 to 171 in 2025.

Borno State represented 67 percent of the assaults and 72 percent of the associated fatalities, while non-combatants constituted 67 percent of the casualties.

In addressing the dilemma, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in a post via his x handle expressed that the party would enact significant reforms to safeguard Nigerians.

He mentioned that the ADC intends to enhance intelligence coordination.

“Nigeria is not devoid of intelligence; it is lacking in coordination,” he stated.

He elaborated that the party is advocating for a legally established national intelligence coordination system led by a Coordinator of National Intelligence and a consolidated Joint Terrorism Task Force to guarantee prompt reactions and prevent missed alerts.

Secondly, according to Abdullahi, the ADC seeks to decentralize law enforcement, thus bringing security nearer to communities.

He clarified that the ADC would create a multi-tiered policing framework across federal, state, and local levels, with defined roles and national benchmarks to ensure quicker reactions and responsibility in all 774 local governmental areas.

Abdullahi remarked that the ADC aims to transition from reactive security to proactive measures.

He indicated that the organization’s strategy includes intelligence-based early warning systems and rapid response units in every state to thwart attacks before they happen.

“The ADC’s emphasis will be on preventing attacks, not merely reacting after a disaster occurs,” the ADC spokesperson articulated.
