Crowdfunding claim

In September 2022, Abba was alleged to have solicited a thousand naira (N1,000) contribution from the public to finance his campaign.

In a press statement issued to the media by his aide, Sanusi Bature, he refuted the allegation.

He asserted that the “misinformation” was an effort to tarnish his principal’s reputation.

We wish to inform the esteemed citizens of Kano State, particularly members of our esteemed party, the NNPP, to dismiss the video’s content as an insignificant smear campaign devised by certain ill-behaved individuals within the opposition political landscape, Mr. Bature stated in the press release.

It is important to note that his Excellency is aware of the presence of FRIENDS OF ABBA GIDA GIDA, a collective of his associates from various Nigerian universities, other higher educational institutions, legal professionals, and members from the business sector who organize themselves with the singular goal of advocating for good governance and democracy in which they perceive in him (Abba Gida Gida) a deserving representative.

Thus, through this press statement, His Excellency wishes to make it unmistakably clear that he has never initiated any fundraising for his 2023 campaign activities which are yet to commence.

We remain unwavering and dedicated to rescuing Kano state from the unfortunate predicament in which the state’s populace finds itself under the current inept administration, the statement declared.

Kano public asset sales

In 2020, Abba accused Governor Abdullah Umar Ganduje of contravening the rule of law and due process concerning the purported sales of public assets.
