Subsequent to the endorsement granted by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Tetfund, Dr Abdullahi Bichi Baffa, has been dismissed.
In a communiqué released by the Federal Ministry of Education to the press, the Deputy Director of Information, Mr Ben Goong, indicated that the President has reinstated Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro as the Executive Secretary of the TETFund.
The statement titled, “Bogoro reinstated as Executive Secretary of TETFund,” stated:
”The Federal Government has approved the reinstatement of Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro as the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).”
As per news articles, another announcement from the Honourable Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, disclosed that Prof. Bogoro’s reinstatement is effective immediately, encompassing all the terms of his previous appointment as well as the TEYFund’s conditions of employment for staff.
“Prof. Suleiman Bogoro served as the Executive Secretary of TETFUND from April 2014 to February 2016.”
Ladunliadi reports that a rationale for the abrupt reinstatement has yet to be provided.
